Overnight, Short-Term & Long-Term
At our first meeting, we will go over paperwork for you to complete, answer any questions you have for us, and anything we need to know about your family member. As a general rule, all that will have to accompany them during their stay is food and medications/vitamins/supplements they will need during their stay with us. Food bowls are helpful, but not required. We ask that bedding, toys, accessories be limited, with the understanding that they may not return in the same condition.
Routine business hours are 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
Please let us know if you have petcare needs outside these times; we understand emergencies and work schedules may mean you may have limited flexibility.
Everything we do is to enhance a calm and peaceful environment for our guests, including playing hard – resting hard rotations and routine. We play hard, and we rest hard; Repeat. Schedules may differ based on the makeup of the daily pack, but routines remain consistent. During rest periods, and especially during storms or fireworks, shades are drawn & smooth jazz is playing.
Our neighborhood has minimal traffic and is great for walks, where we can work on good leash habits.
We use kennels for eating, sleeping and any unsupervised time, for everyone’s safety, so each has their own safe space. In this way, we reduce anxiety in a new place, cut down on curiosity about neighbors’ food, and protect from wandering unsupervised in the night.
When visiting your home, we will typically schedule 2 visits/day, at roughly 12-hour intervals. Each visit is usually up to 30 minutes, depending on how many pets and the tasks required. We will agree on a routine for your household before you go. When we are providing care in your home, the purpose of the service is for you to be able to enjoy your trip knowing all is well at home.
We have Rhodesian Ridgebacks, African Lion Hounds, whose breed characteristics make our job easy. Founding member, Sheriff and Playground Monitor Duke, has passed, but not before training Samson, whom we use to welcome, to evaluate and to socialize other dogs, and 3 cats - Shadow, Nala & Grayson, the latest in a series of what we lovingly call "failed rescues" - they never left.:)
